Jennifer Quincey

DIRECTOR, NEW SOUTH WALES

Jennifer Quincey is the Executive Director, Women, Family and Community Safety at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.

She is responsible for leading strategic, policy and program responses to prevent and reduce domestic, family and sexual violence in NSW, as well as work relating to countering violent extremism, crime prevention and diversion. Jennifer oversees the implementation of major initiatives, including the NSW Safer Pathway Program and the NSW Primary Prevention Strategy, cross‑government strategy and policy development, and evidence‑informed investment approaches.

Jennifer has extensive experience across the NSW public sector. She previously held roles within the former NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, contributing to major national reform initiatives. Earlier in her career, she worked in NSW Treasury and the Metropolitan Police Service (London), developing strong foundations in public finance, organisational governance and evidence‑based social policy. She also brings relevant experience from her decade‑long tenure as Treasurer and Non‑Executive Board Member of a specialist domestic violence and family support service.

“My connection to this work comes from both years spent working alongside people—across government and the sector—who are striving to keep women and children safe, and from personal experiences. I’ve seen how powerful it is when lived experience, strong partnerships and rigorous evidence come together to drive change.

Joining the ANROWS Board excites me because it brings all these forces together – listening deeply; valuing expertise from across victim-survivors, the sector and government; and helping research translate into actionable change that strengthens safety and outcomes.”
