The Voices Project recommendations: Overarching principles for responses across the service system

This resource outlines the recommendations from the research project Transforming responses to intimate partner and sexual violence: Listening to the voices of victims, perpetrators and services or the Voices Project. It will be useful for practitioners and policymakers seeking practical recommendations for their work.  

The Voices Project maps the help-seeking journeys of victims and survivors as well as people who use violence, to identify what is needed to transform sector responses.

Three core principles are identified in the Voices Project: recognise children, respond to diversity, and promote change. These principles underpin the following recommended areas for improvement:

• Community
• Social networks
• Early engagement
• System access
• Ongoing response

This resource provides tangible suggestions across these five areas for practitioners and policymakers to enhance responses across the service system.
